With the new interactive elements like super slingshots and wind tunnels that act as jet streams, Spider-Man has never been faster in the air. Customers report mixed experiences with the game’s condition, with one noting it arrived in perfect shape while another mentions receiving a broken gaming case. Customers find the game to be good value for money, with one mentioning it’s worth it for little superheroes. They face new challenges, both internally and externally, as they navigate the balance between personal and superhero lives. Miles Morales, also bitten by a radioactive spider, follows in the footsteps of Peter Parker.
Storyline
The game has a graphics-oriented Fidelity mode and a 60 frames-per-second Performance mode. You get to fully experience how fast Peter and Miles whip through the New York City skyline. If you’re on the fence about picking up the game or starting the franchise in general, this list may be of help to you.
There is no official info that the game will be verified for Steam Deck, however, the previous Spider-Man game was playable on the handheld, so it’s possible that the sequel will be as well. There’s no debate about whether Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 are great games. They’re exceptional, with the sequel polishing on an already absolute thrill of an experience. But the fact is, the sequel adds a ton more new features and makes quality-of-life changes that can’t be ignored. The PS5 makes it so your playthrough is as seamless and glitch-free as possible.
With newly added rooftop launch points and wind tunnels across the city, flying is so in. In the 2018 PlayStation 4 game, Peter fought off members of the Sinister Six while juggling his relationship with Mary Jane. The story crescendoed with the death of Aunt May at the hands of Otto Octavius. Miles Morales lost his father in the events of that game, but later headlined a smaller follow-up title, where he saved the city from the corrupt tech corporation Roxxon Energy. Releasing exclusively on PlayStation 5, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the sequel to two past titles — one a familiar Peter Parker origin story; the other, Miles Morales’ main gaming debut.
They’re unique as the only collectibles in Spider-Man 2 that aren’t marked directly on the map. Instead, you need to locate all 42 of them by looking for the large, colorful spheres that pulse periodically. This guide applies to the original PS5 version of Spider-Man 2 as well as the 2025 PC version. To its credit, Nixxes has fixed a lot of bugs since the game’s release. As I wrote in my PC Performance Analysis, the PC version had numerous issues when it came out.
Suspend your disbelief in a neat little web above your head, dive in with your mask pulled tight over your face, and prepare yourself for the daftest, most earnest action game of 2023. It’s a 20-or-so hour hoot you’re not going to be able to put down until the post-credits scene has rolled. The main difference in the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 are more advanced ray tracing options. They allow to get prettier reflections and shadows, as well as more realistic looking lighting (the game supports Nvidia DLSS Ray Reconstruction technology). This port also supports ultrawide screens and playing on three monitors.
While overseeing a prison transfer with Peter at The Raft, a vengeful Miles fails to stop the Hunters from capturing Martin Li, who previously killed his father, Jefferson Davis. Investigating Kraven, Peter discovers he is hunting super-powered individuals in search of an “equal”. Having already killed Scorpion, Vulture, Shocker, and Electro, Kraven attempts to capture Black Cat. However, Miles helps her escape to Paris by using the mystical Wand of Watoomb.

To their credit, the way you can highlight side objectives by pressing the right stick is a welcome upgrade over mere icons on a map. Even without that, you can spot ominous clouds or glowing purple rooftops with the bare eye signaling activities are there to be found. This isn’t a world that beckons exploration or discovery, necessarily, but it is a step in the right direction toward creating greater immersion and mercifully less time spent looking at the map screen. Where the first game starred Peter Parker, and its spin-off starred Miles, this one has both.
This was their chance to really expand on the world they had established, and they missed the mark completely. The first 75% of the game is dedicated to a mostly boring villain plot while the actual interesting plot builds in the background, occupying the last 25%. Venom isn’t around long enough either, especially for the impact they act like he had on the city, but it just about made all the waiting worth it. Especially with the added personal connection between Spider-Man and Venom, really highlighting Venom as the dark mirror of Peter. 789win were high when the teasers at the end of both Spider-Man and Miles Morales teased the arrival of Venom. And, thankfully, it’s the only part of the story they actually did well.
PC players will also miss out at launch, but Sony have begun dropping their first-party titles on Steam in the months and years after the initial release, so we expect it to appear on PC later down the line. After this hunter base, players shift to playing as Miles Morales as he tries to track down priceless artifacts from the local jazz museum. The middle section of the game is filled with many similar side quests, which help the player take a break after very tense moments. Following this mission, one of the most enjoyable missions of the game occurs. Peter, Harry and MJ go to the fair and share memories of their past while going on many theme park rides. As the three of them sit on the Ferris Wheel, Hunters attack the park, as they are trying to capture the reformed villain, Tombstone.
These characters do add a bit more flavour to the world and its largely homogenous population of NPCs you’re clearly not intended to look at too closely. Speaking of boss battles, that’s one area that takes a noticeable step up from our initial tangos with Kingpin, Vulture, and the rest. One of my criticisms of the first in Insomniac’s series was how uninspired many of the showdowns felt, with their quicktime-heavy fights making a light impact.
